Ulu Knife

$50.00

Ulu, or “Womans Knife” is the traditional knife of the Inuit, Yupik and Aleut people. “It is utilized in applications as diverse as skinning and cleaning animals, cutting a child's hair, cutting food, as a weapon and, if necessary, trimming blocks of snow and ice used to build an igloo.” (from Wikipedia)

This knife is more ergonomic than traditional knives, placing it inline with your arm instead out at an angle. This makes chopping and cutting easier and faster. The blade is stainless steel and the handle can be done in a variety of woods that are coated in a food safe oil finish. Paudauk (dark) and Spalted Maple (light) are the two wood species shown in the photos.
