Fusion of live edge and rotted black walnut and cracked emerald green resin. This piece evokes the spirit of the Japanese art form “Kintsugi”. Kintsugi “is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer…. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.” (from Wikipedia). The piece was at thought first to be a failure, however by use of white tinted resin it was rescued and grew more beautiful for it.
